(Aviation-NewsWire.Com, April 19, 2017 ) Advanced extremely high frequency (AEHF) is a series of communications satellite systems operated by the US Air Force Space Command. They are used to relay secure communications for the US Armed Forces, the British Army, the Canadian Armed Forces, and the Royal Netherlands Forces. The AEHF system will replace the older Milstar system with six satellites in geostationary orbits, three of which have been launched. This satellite system will facilitate jam-resistant communications with a low interception among the armed forces. AEHF systems provide vastly improved global, survivable, jam-proof, protected communications for strategic and tactical users on ground, sea, and air platforms. These systems can also be used for conventional missions such as intelligence gathering, navigation, and military communications.
